What brought me to teach this course. I have trained in and taught Martial Arts and Qigong for 25 years. I started learning the art of Qigong through my martial art teacher when I was 12. When I was 17, I had a doctor make a mistake during surgery that caused me to have a massive hemorrhage. I ended up in a coma for three days, and when I woke up I was paralyzed, I couldn't speak, and I couldn't read.

The doctors kept asking how I survived. I had been training my body and mind to endure hardship about 4 or 5 years at that point. I knew I survived an event that should have killed me because I had trained myself to be strong from both the inside and the outside. I did not receive any rehabilitation from the medical system. I healed myself after I left the hospital. I was still confined to a bed when I got back to the house where I grew up, but I had no plans of staying that way.

Over the years ahead, I used herbal medicine, nourishing foods, Kung Fu, and Qigong meditation to make myself whole again. It didn't happen overnight, it took a long time, but it did happen. I went from unable to read, to working as a peer-reviewer at an Oxford University medical journal in 9 years. I healed myself and made a full recovery. Now, I want to pass that knowledge over to you, to help keep you strong and healthy.

As you can see in my biography below, I have an extensive scientific background. However, what drives me to teach what I know is a deep awareness of how practical this way of life is for people. I look forward to helping you on your journey to happiness, health, and peace of mind.

All the best,

David
